Thanks to the miracles of modern technology, you can now watch Sisters in Crime’s panel discussion, Flawed Heroes, originally scheduled as a live event for Friday 3 April in Melbourne, on Sisters in Crime’s brand-new YouTube channel.
For 45 minutes, authors Emma Viskic, Karina Kilmore and Natalie Conyer talked to Jacqui Horwood about the flawed heroes of their crime novels as they grapple with an equally flawed world.
Three lucky ticket holders scored crime book packs worth $150 each, including books by all three authors: Allison Mitchell (Tas), Thea Woznitza (NSW) and Janine Healey (Tas).
And don’t forget you can go online to order Emma Viskic, Darkness for Light and Karina Kilmore, Where the Truth Lies from the Sun Bookshop and Natalie Conyer, Present Tense from Clan Destine Press.
We’ll keep you posted about the next event, Burning Issues, originally scheduled for Friday 24 April, where writers Chloe Hooper, Kimberley Starr and Leisl Leighton will talk with Maggie Baron about how their crime books get up close and personal with arson and bushfires, and confront some of the most uncomfortable realities of life in this sunburnt country.
