Murder Monday: Sara Foster

With the publication of The Hush (HarperCollins Australia) in October 2021, Perth-based author, Sara Foster, has notched up six psychological thrillers. She talked about her career and the craft of writing with Karina Kilmore for November’s Murder Monday.

Sara Foster was born and bred in England and that’s reflected in the settings of most of her novels. Her writing also draws on her work as a book editor, first in-house at HarperCollins UK, and then freelance. She has edited and proofread well over 100 books, fiction and non-fiction, including novels by Paullina Simons and Liane Moriarty, not to mention the autobiography of her teenage idol, Jason Donovan.

Sisters in Crime is pleased that Sara decided to emigrate to Australia in 2004. The UK’s loss is Australia’s gain. And we’re pretty sure Australia – and most especially Perth – has more to offer a keen snorkeller and scuba diver than the cold, dark waters of the UK.

Sara is also doing her PhD at Curtin University in dystopian fiction, which in these pandemic times, seems somewhat prophetic.

The Hush is also being published by Blackstone (US) in November.
