The Communications team is responsible for making sure members and newsletter subscribers are up-to-date on:
● Our major annual awards – the Davitt Awards and Scarlet Stiletto short fiction awards – entries, results and ceremonies
● Sisters events in different states and regions, and partner events
● Events and news about women’s crime writing here and overseas
● Author spotlights and website content
● Our reviews of new books
● Publishing news
● Giveaways, announcements and updates.
We’re looking for volunteers with skills in:
● Copywriting for online
● Editing
● Basic design
● Website upload/management/WordPress/SEO
● Mailchimp or e-newsletter production
● Producing and scheduling content for social media channels
● Press releases and media liaison
● Video and graphic production.
We don’t expect people to have all of these skills, but would like to add to our team of supporters to share the workload, learn from each other, and work together. For example, someone may love posting to Instagram and focus on that while someone else works on Awards promotions across channels.
National Convenors
A couple of of our current convenors have or will soon step down, so we’re also looking for women who are interested in contributing to running Sisters in Crime nationally, and in particular people with interests and/or skills in:
● Funding and fundraising
● Communications
● Volunteers
