Murder Monday: Sarah Barrie

Sarah Barrie has nine novels under her belt. She cut her teeth on romance but, luckily for us, threw her lot in with crime. Sarah spoke about her literary trajectory to Sisters in Crime’s Jacq Ellem for the December Murder Monday.

In a past life, while gaining degrees in arts, science, and education, Sarah worked as a teacher, a vet nurse, a horse trainer, and a magazine editor, before deciding she wanted to write novels.

Her four hard-hitting crime novels feature Lexi Winter, a vigilante turned cop. All her novels have arresting one-word titles: Unforgiven, Retribution, Vendetta, and Endgame. Unforgiven was highly commended in Sisters in Crime’s 2022Davitt Awards.

When she’s not writing, you’ll find Sarah ferrying children to soccer or gymnastics, or trudging through paddocks chasing cattle, sheep, chickens, or the Houdini pig that never stays put very long. She also edits two equestrian magazines.
