Brisbane author, Kylie Kaden, started off writing romantic suspense but has increasingly turned to the dark side with two domestic noir thrillers, The Day the Lies Began, which came out in August 2019, and now One of Us, out with Pantera Press this month. She talked about the transition with author Karina Kilmore for Sisters in Crime’s May Murder Monday. (Click below to view.)
Kylie last spoke to Sisters in Crime panel in Melbourne called “Domestic Noir Goes West”, back in 2019, BC (Before Covid!)
She’s a self-declared book junkie and has an honours degree in psychology – and now four novels to her credit. Almost a decade ago, she achieved what so many aspiring writers dream of – her book was plucked from the Random House slush pile. Missing You was translated internationally and won critical acclaim.
All this has been achieved whilst raising three boys and often having to resort to writing in the laundry where she won’t be found.

Murder Monday interviews are available on Sisters in Crime YouTube channel at 6pm once a month on a Monday.
