In partnership with Sisters in Crime Australia and Port Phillip Libraries, aspiring author and trained forensic scientist Maggie Baron speaks with authors Kimberley Starr (The Map of Night ) and Sue Williams (Death at the Belvedere) about how science provides such fertile raw material for crime and mystery novels.
Some of Australia’s most popular female crime writers will converge on the Bega Valley on Saturday 27 August for the Sisters in Crime writers’ festival. The line-up includes Candice Fox, Vikki Petraitis, Fleur Ferris, Ilsa Evans, Kay Schubach, Caroline de Costa, and Dorothy Johnston.
Sisters in Crime has put together some killer library events in partnership with Bayside Library Services for September. Two top Bayside authors, Sally Hepworth and Anna George, discuss how they dig deep to expose the drama, disputes, and violence that can rip family relations and home life apart.

Brighton author, teacher, and podcaster, Vikki Petraitis is best known for her 18 true crime books but she'll be speaking about her recently-pulished PhD novel, The Unbelieved, which won the inaugural Allen & Unwin Crime Fiction Award.
A whole Sunday in Warburton (Vic) devoted to Agatha Christie (who visited there 100 years ago) and the wonderful world of cozy crime. Includes Katherine Kovacic, Nicki Greenberg and Lindy Cameron.
Authors Emma Viskic (Those Who Perish) and Aoife Clifford (When We Fall) will be in conversation with fellow writer, Leigh Redhead (Peepshow) , about the dead bodies which keep inconveniently washing up on beaches but are great plot devices.
