On her website Ellie Marney describes herself as a “writer for Young Adults, obsessive reader, criminal mastermind” but then goes on to qualify it by noting: “Well, not always a mastermind. Sometimes a mastermind. Okay, occasionally a mastermind.”

However by looking at Ellie’s output over the ten years since she won Sisters in Crime’s Scarlet Stiletto Award with a decidedly adult story, you could be forgiven in thinking she was being unduly modest.

Firstly, there is her Every trilogy. Every Word won the Davitt (Young Adult), Every Breath was highly commended in the Davitts and so was No Limits which was a follow-on. There’s been the stand-alone White Nights and three novels in her Circus Hearts series. She has also contributed to the YA anthology, Begin, End, Begin, and her story Missing Persons was then separately published as a book by HarperCollins.

Her latest novel is None Shall Sleep which is coming out internationally in September through Little, Brown Books for Younger Readers, and through Allen & Unwin in Australia.

In between times, she has raised 4 boys, been a LoveOzYA flag-waver, and self-publishing community organiser.
