A capacity crowd gathered on Saturday night (3 December) to celebrate Sisters in Crime’s 29th Scarlet Stiletto Awards at South Melbourne’s Rising Sun Hotel. Nicole Chamoun, star of Troppo, based on the book, Crimson Lake, by long-term member, Candice Fox, presented the awards, after first discussing her life in crime with award-winning author and podcaster, Vikki Petraitis.
Debut books in the crime and mystery genre scooped all six awards in Sisters in Crime’s 22nd Davitt Awards on 27 August – Charlotte McConaghy’s Once there Were Wolves; Leanne Hall’s The Gaps; Nicki Greenberg’s The Detective’s Guide to Ocean Travel; Jacqueline Bublitz’s Before You Knew My Name (two awards); and Kate Holden’s, The Winter Road.
Bring out the pearls for a fabulous night of felonious talk and food, to celebrate Sisters in Crime Australia’s 30th birthday. Diary date: 23 April in St Kilda, Melbourne.
