More info:

Sydney-based author, L.A. Larkin, is highly acclaimed for her action and conspiracy thrillers and is described by James Phelan as “a world-class thriller writer”. Devour (Hachette) is the second of her novels to be set in Antarctica but the first in a series featuring investigative journalist, Olivia Wolfe, whose search for the truth takes her to dangerous places. Wolfe joins a group of Antarctic scientists drilling down through three kilometres of ice in the hope they will discover ancient life in a subterranean lake. Sabotage and murder are just the beginning of a journey that will ultimately lead Wolfe to a man who would obliterate civilisation…

To research Devour and her previous thriller, Thirst, Louisa spent time in Antarctica, travelling on a former Russian oceanographic research vessel, the Professor Multanovskiy, where the Russian crew were the inspiration for some of her Russian characters, including Vitaly Yushkov. She also interviewed expeditioners from both British Antarctic Survey and the Australian Antarctic Division. Devour is inspired by a real British expedition in 2012 to discover life in Antarctica’s subterranean Lake Ellsworth which is buried beneath three kilometres of ice.

International best-selling author Peter James says Devour “delivers action and intrigue in spades” and Kathryn Fox says, “Devour will keep you gripped from the very first page to the last”. Devour is published by Hachette in Australia in July and in the UK by Constable in January 2017.
