For Murder Monday, Sisters in Crime’s Jacq Ellem spoke to award-winning author Kayte Nunn, who lives in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales.

Kayte Nunn grew up in England and the US, and has lived in Australia for more than 25 years, initially working as a book, magazine and web editor and writer. She was formerly the editor of Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine, an experience that seems to have given her knowledge, which she appears to have put to great use in her latest novel, The Palazzo. So much delicious food and wine.
Kayte is the author of seven previous novels, including two contemporary love stories Rose’s Vintage and Angel’s Share and four works of historical fiction: The Botanist’s Daughter, The Forgotten Letters of Esther Durrant, The Silk House and The Last Reunion. The Botanist’s Daughter was the 2020 winner of the Winston Graham Historical Fiction Prize.
Luckily for us, Kayte has turned to crime – firstly with The Only Child, a contemporary-historical crime mystery, and The Palazzo, which is just out with Hachette Australia.
