Sandi Wallace and Sue Williams in line-up of 2017 Coal Creek Literary Festival

Rural crime writers (and Sisters in Crime members) Sue Williams and Sandi Wallace are among a cast of ten authors talking about their books and writing at this year’s Coal Creek Literary Festival.

At 11.30-12.15pm, Sue and Sandi will be chatting about their latest releases—the second books in their respective series—and penning crime stories.

Sandi will also be part of the panel discussion at 4.15-5.00pm, which will be followed by drinks and conversation in the foyer.

Sue Williams: Dead Men Don’t Order Flake is Sue’s comedy-crime novel starring Rusty Bore’s not-quite-licensed private detective and takeaway owner, Cass Tuplin, with a man returning from the dead and murder at its heart. It is the follow-up to Sue’s debut novel, Murder with the Lot, shortlisted for the 2013 Ned Kelly Awards Best First Fiction. Sandi Wallace: Sandi’s rural crime thriller, Dead Again, sees Melbourne journalist Georgie Harvey and Daylesford cop John Franklin back in conflict when her assignment in wildfire-ravaged Bullock and a crime spree in Daylesford connect. Dead Again was released in April 2017 and B. Michael Radburn, author of The Falls, said: “Sandi Wallace has mastered rural crime,” while Jaye Ford, author of Darkest Place dubbed it: “A gripping twist on the bushfire threat all Australians live with.” It follows Sandi’s debut novel, Tell Me Why, winner of the 2015 Davitt Award Readers’ Choice.
